The "shabby chic" Welsh Dresser is nice and petite, ideal for a cottage kitchen or a modern kitchen to create a contrast. The Welsh Dresser dates from around the 1970's, made from solid pine wood apart from the back board.

The kitchen dresser was stripped cleaned then been hand painted with 3 coats of undercoat paint and 2 coats of eggshell paint. The colour is a Fired Earth pastel green eggshell paint which is very durable, easy to keep clean.

The collage work on the doors and the back of the Welsh Dresser have been created using old images & text from a Punch book. The old book dates back to 1830's and was beyond repair so I reclaimed all the wonderful old illustrations.

The Punch illustrations and printed text were glued using upvc glue then varnished with a Matt varnish to protect them. I have created some framed pictures with the remaining pieces of paper which would compliment the Shabby Chic Welsh Dresser.

The original Welsh Dressers pine top was beyond repair so I made a new top using solid pine. I have "aged" it a little and given the solid pine worktop 3 coats of beeswax, come up a treat. The Welsh Dresser would look great with some old blue and white china plates on the shelves.

Now that its finally finished I almost tempted to keep this one myself, upcycling old Welsh Dressers is fun so I can always make another. In fact, I have already started on a very large pine Jaycee Welsh Dresser.

If you think this old Welsh Dresser is wacky then wait until you see the next one, very unique, very large and Jaycee furniture is very well constructed just like this one. If you like this one and would consider purchasing then it is for sale now (May 2013), delivery or collection is no problem and I will consider your best offer.

PS. This Shabby Chic Welsh dresser is an upcycled piece of furniture, although solid it will not be perfect as new. The style is "shabby chic" and the imperfections are all part of its charm in my opinion. If you agree then you will not be disappointed with this Shabby Chic Welsh Dresser, its a unique piece of kitchen furniture.
